Hi, I’m Sara.

I coach faith leaders facing adaptive challenges.

“Going through the coaching process with Sara this past year has given me clarity and focus in my ministry. She has a great ear and can help you clarify your own goals and what God is calling you into. In a time when we are dealing with a global pandemic, a national conversation about racial injustice and general anxiety over the cultural shifts that are taking place, having one on one coaching broadened my horizons and gave me logical and practical steps forward in the murkiness of ministry.”

Rev. Rebecca Breddin, Pastor | Big Pembina & Walhalla Lutheran Parish

“Sara is a coach I trust, whom I gladly recommend to colleagues. She will listen acutely, consider deeply, reflect insightfully, and challenge skillfully. She can help you discover, decide, and do what's really important in your life. Thoughtful, calm, attentive, insightful, disarming, inquisitive, broad-minded, friendly, charming, perceptive, discerning, and deep; Sara is a pleasure to be around, a partner on your journey. ”

Born in Pierre, South Dakota,

I loved gathering friends together to grow spiritually and serve meaningfully.  Naturally, the next step for me was to study education at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD.  Following graduation, I traveled and worked in England, taught environmental education, and spent a year traveling and volunteering in India.

Entering seminary

I found a way to bridge my love of teaching with spirituality.  Ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in 2001, I worked as a pastor in Kalispell, MT; Littleton, CO; and Boulder, CO.

I discovered I wanted to help other faith leaders and congregations navigate adaptive change after leading a congregation through a discernment process that included selling property, building a nursing school in Tanzania, supporting local and synodical ministries and launching a new mission start.

I now serve

as an intentional interim pastor helping congregations discern their next chapter and work as a leadership coach for faith leaders.  I am a trainer for Excellence in Leadership with the Rocky Mountain Synod of the ELCA and lead the Interim Ministry Training Course Using a Group Coaching Model.  I feel fulfilled when creating trusting relationships where exploration and growth flourish.

“Sara is intuitive, insightful, and inspirational! She sees complex issues with clarity and helps you find a clear path forward.”
